These past few weeks have been kind of eye opening if I do say so myself, I've taken multiple steps back thinking that maybe distance would help, but distance does nothing but get you used to the idea of them no longer being in your life.
I thought not being the first one to make plans, and or get in contact would switch it up a bit and finally show me that I do have friends in my area.
Guys it doesn't work.
And that's okay.
I've been through multiple friendships to know that it's gonna take a while to find a friend that loves like you, considers like you, appreciates like you, listens like you, and takes care of you the way you take care of others. Granted I'm not sure when that day will be, but hey at least i've got family right?
Wrong.
My mom spends almost all her time choosing her boyfriends over her kids feeling respected and or comfortable. She spends her time trying to convince her kids that her boyfriend no longer wants to threaten to "punch" her kids in the face, and or threaten to "shoot" her kids in the face, and that's just supposed to make it all better? My mom keeps putting my little sister in the middle of everything because she keeps asking why I don't talk to her. Maybe it's because every time I get around you, the only thing that's talked about is how miserable you are with him, yet you're still with him?
Someone please tell me how that works?
There's no way she's in love with him, his imaginary monopoly money, maybe, but him ? There's literally no way when he's a redneck white guy with a mullet that says the N word, and holds his junk at women to feel dominance. Where's the man in that? Why would she want that? Why would she want to show her daughters that it's okay to be in a relationship like that?
Back to friendships
All of that about my mother so far being said you can tell why I'd rather just create my own family. You can tell why friendships matter so much to me, because when you become friends with me you're stepping into a family I started on my own. That's why I care so much.
That's also why it hurts so much to be disregarded like I didn't just spend the last couple of years making sure my friends feel loved, appreciated, and or seen and heard.
